Gartner notes that, "The emergence of AI is driving hype associated with multiple technologies in 2024, including network AI assistants, AI networking, AI fabrics and digital twins. I&O networking leaders can use this research to prioritize investment and optimize adoption of emerging network technologies."

According to Gartner, "Technology refresh drives most enterprise network investment today. However, infrastructure and operations (I&O) networking leaders are asked to improve operational cost-efficiencies and enhance security for users and applications, regardless of location or whether a refresh is in scope."

Gartner also suggests that, "I&O networking leaders should assess the technological innovations covered in this research to inform investment decisions with focus on AI-powered software and security-infused solutions to augment network operations."
